Reiki Level 2 — Okuden (Second Degree)

Deepen your Reiki practice

Reiki Level 2 is where your practice truly begins to expand. Having found your feet at Level 1, Okuden — "inner teachings" — opens up the symbols, the sacred mantras, and the ability to send Reiki at a distance. It's also the traditional level at which many students take the step from giving Reiki to loved ones into offering it professionally as a practitioner.

At RP Therapies, Level 2 is taught in a calm, purpose-built therapy centre, in a small group, with unhurried time for each student.

What is Reiki Level 2?

Where Level 1 awakens your channel, Level 2 sharpens and directs it. You'll be introduced to three of the traditional Usui Reiki symbols — each with its own mantra and purpose — and attuned so you can work with them in your treatments. You'll learn how Reiki can be sent through time and space, and how to focus your practice with far greater precision.

What Reiki Level 2 covers

• A review of the Level 1 foundations, with time to answer any questions that have come up in your practice

• The history and meaning of the three second-degree Reiki symbols and their mantras

• Your Level 2 attunement, opening you to these new energies

• How and when to use each symbol — for power, mental/emotional healing, and distance work

• Distance (absent) healing techniques, including methods for sending Reiki across time

• Practising full treatments on one another, with feedback

• An introduction to working with paying clients: consultation, consent, record-keeping, and simple safeguarding

• The role of the Five Reiki Principles in your professional practice

By the end of the day you'll have the tools and confidence to offer Reiki as a practitioner and to support people who aren't in the same room as you.

Who is this course for?

Reiki Level 2 is for anyone who has already completed Reiki Level 1 with a recognised teacher (with us or elsewhere — please bring your certificate). It's ideal for:

• Students who've been practising Level 1 for a while and feel ready to go deeper

• Therapists wanting to add Reiki to their existing professional offering

• Those working toward becoming a full Reiki practitioner or Master

• Anyone drawn to distance healing work

We usually recommend at least a few weeks of regular Level 1 self-treatment before moving on — but there's no strict minimum. If you feel called, you're ready.

What to expect on the day

The day is paced gently but covers a lot of ground. We begin with a check-in and a short meditation, move into the history and teaching of the symbols, and take the attunement before lunch.

The afternoon is almost entirely practical — you'll work with each symbol in turn, give and receive a full Level 2 treatment, and practise sending distance healing under guidance. We finish with time for questions about setting up a small practice, should that be your next step.

After the course

Reiki Level 2 is the level at which many practitioners choose to start offering treatments to clients. If that's your path, we'll point you toward insurance, professional associations (such as the UK Reiki Federation or the Complementary Medical Association), and basic client paperwork to get you started.

If and when you're called to go further, Reiki Level 3 — Masters is the final step in the Usui system and the level at which you become a teacher in your own right.

About your teacher

Reiki Level 2 is taught by Richy ("Dickie") Parton, founder of RP Therapies and a committed Reiki and spiritual healing practitioner. Dickie holds his Usui Reiki Masters twice over — having trained to full Master level with two different tutors on two separate lineages to build a genuinely deep understanding of the Usui system before teaching it himself. His focus as a therapist and teacher sits firmly within Reiki and spiritual work, and his style at Level 2 is exactly what most students need at this stage: calm, precise, patient, and entirely grounded.
